Volunteering at KanFest is a great way to connect with the paddling community, make new friends, and help support the maintenance of the Upper Kananaskis River. Whether you're lending a hand on event weekend or helping out in the months leading up to the festival, your time makes a big impact.

All KanFest 2026 volunteers will receive a minimum of:

• 30% off registration

• Reserved camping (with some limitations)

• Volunteer-only gear raffles

• Free coffee + snacks + drinks

• Access to “Secret Kan” - A volunteer camping and appreciation night.

Event Weekend Volunteer Roles

Each shift is approximately 4 hours. Roles include:

• Timekeeping (races, freestyle heats, etc.)

• Judging

• Event Safety Boat 

• General Event Support

• Setup / Takedown

• Breakfast Cook/Clean

• Registration ​

Pre-Event Volunteer Roles

Time commitment varies depending on the role. Opportunities include:

• General Event Planning

• Social Media & Marketing

• Sponsor Management

• Secretary / Records Keeping

• Auction & Prize Coordinator​
