Introduction to Packrafting is a hands-on course designed for beginners to develop the esssential skills needed for safe and enjoyable packrafting. This intro course will provide an introduction to packrafting gear, storage, and history, as well as the three essential paddle strokes. Students will learn how to select and properly use packrafting equipment, store essential items safely on the water, and practice key paddling skills. Participants will be taught self-rescue techniques and practice doing a wet re-entry.
*This course is for people new to packrafting, and will be taught in a slower (class II) section of the Kananaskis River. We do ask that you have some experience paddling or swimming in moving water.
